The unit was originally raised as a single coy with strength of 02 NCC Officers and 60 Cadets. Its strength of cadets was raised to 120 w.e.f. 1st Nov 1960 and strength was further increased to 200 vide NCC (UP) Lucknow. After the reorganization this unit was re-designated as 1 UP Medical Coy NCC with the strength of 01 NCC Officer and 200 cadets and finally shifted to Allahabad on 14th Oct 1978. Since then the unit is located at Moti Lal Nehru Medical College, Prayagraj.
